Josh's early technical work included PC repair and hands-on technology, alongside experience in radio and DJ work. Those years built a practical interest in how people interact with technology and how information is communicated.
From 2005 to 2015, he served as a CLEET Intermediate Peace Officer in Oklahoma. That experience reinforced the value of clear information, situational awareness and tools that work when circumstances are changing quickly.
He later earned commercial and instrument airplane privileges. Aviation's emphasis on disciplined information flow, human factors and situational awareness continues to influence FL790's design language and product philosophy.
In 2021, Josh was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. More than five years later, he is a cancer survivor. Years spent navigating treatment, symptoms, medications and the gaps between what happens at home and what can be reconstructed during a medical visit helped inspire FL790's interest in better patient-centered information tools.
FL790 grew from building practical solutions to problems encountered in everyday life. Its products span family communication, health tracking and hospitality situational awareness, connected by one idea: better information can support better decisions.
